Upcoming Book Signings..And an Online Price Guide Project!

Obviously, I'm pretty bad ad this blogging thing...I can't believe it's been a year since my last update! In any event, I'll be signing books at the upcoming UFDC Conference in Eugene, Oregon at the end of April (April 25th, 2007), and also at the UFDC Conference in Tuscon, Arizona this Fall.

Official Price Guide To Dolls: An Excellent First Year in Sales

The Official Price Guide To Dolls has sold phenomenally well since its release, and it is only picking up steam! Yesterday, we were the 41,000th most popular book at Amazon.com. That may not seem very impressive, but there are over three million books in publication at any one time. Our ranking there varies, but the book shows strong sales there, and also at Barnes & Noble book stores, where the book has been carried nationwide. We've even been featured in various catalogs, including Dollmaster's and Dollspart Supplies.

I continue to travel around the country for book signings. I'll be signing at the Publisher's Preview at the UFDC National Convention in Dallas July 9th to 14th, and also at the Modern Doll Collector's Convention in October. Please keep checking back for dates and times and additional appearances.

Upcoming Appearances and Book Signings; Official Price Guide to Dolls

I'll be at the Southern Oregon Doll Collectors' Doll Show and Competition in Medford, Oregon October 7th and 8th. I'll be a judge for the doll competition, and then sign books during the show on Sunday.

I'll also be at the Modern Doll Collector's Convention in Anaheim, California October 19th through the 22nd. I'll be signing books in the sale room for that convention, as well as giving a lecture on the History of Fashion Dolls.

I hope to see everyone at these events; I'll also be in Montery, California for the Theriault's auction weekend September 24th and 25th.

I really love talking to people who have read the book!

One of my favorite things about doing book signings and meeting people in my doll shop who have read my book, the Official Price Guide To Dolls, has been the comments that people have made; its fun to have people enjoying the book and getting so much out of it after being chained to my desk researching, photographing and writing the book for nearly 3 years!

Most people have enjoyed my format which gives doll market information, as well as the fact that the book fairly includes eBay and other Internet information where appropriate. Other people like that the book is so current that it looks at the true market conditions today, including eBay (well...except for one lady who returned the book because she didn't like that her Hilda had, evidently, dropped in value. I never considered returning books before becuase I didn't like what they have to say...)

In any event, its just great to finally have people reading the book!

April 28th to May 1, 2005: Theriault's Dollmastery Seminar and Auction Weekend, Las Vegas, Nevada at the Lake Hyatt. Seminar and book signing.

June 22 to June 5, 2005: eBay Live, San Jose, California!

July 10 to July 16, 2005: UFDC National Doll Convention, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Book signing at Publisher's Preview July 14 and Seminar

October 19 to October 22, 2005: Modern Doll Collectors Convention, Doubletree Hotel, Anaheim, California. Seminar and book sale and signing.
